Here are a collection of my favorite bird shots. I have a blind set up in my barn that allows me to
photograph many of the "winter" birds at a feeder from less than 10' away. It is a cozy blind with a wood burning stove for those cold January days.
I often use my flash (a gift from the kind Ross HS soccer parents) outside the window
to allow for some detail on those overcast days. I use a low end (cheap) 70-300mm lens, so getting
them close and a bit of flash are paramount to getting acceptable results.
The summer birds (bluebirds, Indigo buntings, etc.) require hours of patient waiting while they get used to my hanging around.
Someday I hope to join the crowd with a long, fast lens.
95% of these pictures were taken in my backyard in Okeana, Ohio. I have several acres with some nice habitat that allows me these chances.
Thanks for visiting, and comments are always welcome.
